Man, this inspired me to pull the trigger and get Youtube Premium. I want to be able to watch fart compilations uninterrupted by ads.

Also, some of my fave things of 2023:

– Apple Watch Ultra 2, what an unnecessary buy that was but goddamn my confirmation bias is making me love it.

– Workoutdoors app – goes perfect with my Ultra. It's made by a single dev in the UK and this app is INSANE when it comes to extensive customization settings.

– Framer, I can use prototyping skills from Figma but now just build a real site from the get-go.

Commented.io is making my life a breeze when collabing with devs.

I love your list!

Teenage Engineering is on my list for this year too. I haven’t bought their products yet but I just found they released this https://teenage.engineering/store/ep-133

Deep Brown Noise is in my ears from the morning when I started reading your article. Thanks for this! Works like magic to me!

Just from curiosity: On the last coaching call you mentioned about great notebook. Isn't he good enough to add to this list?

Hmm £13 a month for YT premium - it's probably worth it.

Favourite things of the year:

- We got 4 chickens and they're brilliant. You give them food waste and they turn it into delicious and nutritious eggs.

- Cercle youtube channel. Amazing 4k video shot in beautiful locations while DJs or musicians play. It's good to have on in the background, it's pleasant to look at and listen to without being too distracting. Would be even better without YT ads.

- Casio F-91W digital watch. 80s style, looks nice, highly functional, cheap so don't worry about losing it.

- Notion. A single dumping ground of useful information, notes, journaling, lists etc.

How have I lived my *whole* life not knowing about Bobby Fingers until now?? Pure gold!

Alright, some of my favs in exchange:

1. Hypnosisdownloads.com. These actually work when I commit 2 weeks. Nice to fall asleep to also.

2. "Inside" by Playdead, is a stunning masterpiece. Can be played on a an iPhone. https://playdead.com/games/inside/

3. ShapesXR. Kinda like Figjam, but in VR. Great to prototype in.

4. Magnesium Glycinate capsules. Best.👏Sleep.👏Ever.👏

5. "Red Habanero" by Heartbeat Hot Sauce Co. After trying dozens, this flavour remains undefeated.

Inside is in my top 10 videogames of all time and just watched my girlfriend do a full playthrough earlier this month (also loved it!) it's amazing.

Agree on Magnesium Glycinate, only issue i have is that if I take them before bed, with a lot of water.. then i need to get up to use the bathroom which kind of counteracts the good sleep :D

Any tips??

She might love 'Spiritfairer'. Very beautifully done as well (overall theme + sound design) but totally opposite vibes. Very calming and soothing.

I take it at dinner, with just a sip of water (is that bad?). Get most of my 2L throughout the day to avoid waking up. Have one of those obnoxious QuiFit water bottles with time stamps, but they work great!
